The largest annual meeting of the Duty Free industry turns out to be the perfect showcase for new gifts, the growing Middle Eastern cigarillo market and a focus on closer collaborations with retailers.

The company joined the largest Duty Free and Travel Retail Exhibition & Conference in Cannes, France. Again, this year’s product focus was on the Travel Retail Exclusive Neos Selection 50 cigars, which are offered in a luxury metal box with a sleeve and a purchase gift. 

In addition, with our Neos Flavor Collection we were also targeting the growing market of cigarillos in Asia and the Middle East, both flavoured and non-flavoured. 

For the first time, we presented the newly developed multi brand display to the press. Meanwhile already a dozen gondolas (multi brand floor-displays) had been sent out to different customers while other customers have shown interest in being part of this new retail concept, developed to boost the premium position of cigars and cigarillos in shops.

J. Cortès aims for closer collaboration with the retailers during the MEADFA convention, along with a number of upcoming products and sales training in Changi Airport and Queen Alia in Jordan among others.

The British are  big fans of our products, so we treated some 250 retailers to the Neos Mini Express Blue.

On 4 and 5 October J. Cortès attended the AITS show (Association of Independent Tobacco Specialists) in Nottingham, UK. In cooperation with our valuable client and distributor Gawith Hoggarth, we presented the Neos Mini Express Blue and launched it to the retail market with great success. More than 250 retailers visited the fair. Both our Cortès and our Neos lines remain extremely popular in the UK. The brand and price appeal to the British consumers. Moreover, the Cortès blue and orange cigars are sold in wooden boxes of 10 to the liking of many.

Two weeks ago we launched a new model on the French market. Market research revealed a demand for a shorter, thicker shape. Challenge accepted! The 1st machine-made mini Robusto was a created. It’s a great 100% tobacco type that’ll attract consumers who prefer not to spend a big budget on a long filler cigar, but wish to smoke a bigger type in about 20 minutes.

The Mini Robusto comes in an elegant tin of 5, wrapped in a soft touch liner and covered with a piece of cedar to light the cigars. A little interior at the bottom protects these little babies and keeps them from moving around in the box.
